Alma Temple--A Pillar of Fire Ministry--Denver, Colorado

          The Reed Family

From 1990 through 1997, Dr. John Howard Reed served as principal of Belleview Christian Schools, and his wife served as assistant to the principal. Under their watch, the school experienced unprecedented growth (and, inevitably, growing pains.) In 1997, Dr. and Mrs. Reed turned the focus of their attention to other areas of ministry in the Pillar of Fire. Since that time, Dr. Reed has been a frequent speaker in Alma Temple, especially on the fourth Sunday evening of the month, as well as in morning chapel and Wednesday testimony services on the Belleview campus.
Dr. Reed, a scholar of history, regularly teaches Bible and history courses for Belleview College and Bible Seminary. In 1997-98, these courses included Journey to the Cross (a study of the life of Christ), Introduction to Church History, and a course based on Dr. Francis Schaeffer's book and video, How Shall We Then Live?

Mrs. Weymuth Reed is a talented and enthusiastic pianist and vocalist. She plays piano for many Belleview and Alma Temple functions, and is regularly featured at the Temple as a vocal soloist or in duet with Mrs. Elaine Sharpe.

Dr. and Mrs. Reed are the parents of two grown children. Their daughter, Catherine Zwink, together with her husband, Lee, is a  missionary to Central and South America. In May, 1998, they were blessed with the birth of the Reeds' first grandchild, Samuel, named for the great prophet of the Old Testament. Christopher Zwink joined the family in August, 2000.
The Reeds' son, David, also a history major, has been a teacher and athletic coach at Belleview and serves in the U.S. Army Reserve.
