Alma Temple has served the Capitol Hill area of Denver for over sixty years. Some of its history was compiled into a booklet for an anniversary rededication in 1997. Here are some excerpts.

Looking Forward to the Temple Dedication

There was excitement in the Pillar of Fire in the fall of 1937
as the day approached for the dedication of the new Alma
Temple in Denver. The following is from the New Jersey national headquarters publication Pillar of Fire of November 3, 1937:

This issue of the paper will reach some of our readers before the dedication of Alma Temple in Denver (October 31). Bro. Tuller had written a hymn for the occasion, entitled “We Dedicate this Temple, Lord,” copies of which were distributed to the congregation [at a service at Zarephath on Sunday, October 17], and he led the audience in the singing of it, to the tune of “National Hymn,”—”God of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand,” etc.

We wish we all might hear it sung in the Temple itself.

Some of our people are slipping off to the West for the dedication. Bro. John Nolke and his family started on their
trek in that direction bright and early Monday morning; not
for the dedication solely, but to remain and work there for a while. We trust they will benefit by the change and prove a blessing in their new field.

The last one to leave so far is Bro. C.K. Ingler, who will
be missed in this office. [Bro. Ingler’s report is reproduced
below.] But the rest of us are preparing to take over his work for a time. Others may go later. Though “men may come and men may go,” as the poet says, the paper must be ready to mail out to our interested readers on time.  Top of page
