The
book on which this
film was based was a favorite of our late bishop, Dr. Donald J. Wolfram.
The commandment “love thy neighbor” clashes with prejudice in this moving and evocative drama set at the turn of the century. An irrepressible twelve-year-old, Lena Sills, and her family are the only blacks living in an all-white Missouri town. The family’s quick adjustment to the community and notable achievements make them targets for violence and tragedy. A surprise ending delivers a poignant message to viewers of all ages and illustrates the greatness of the human spirit. |

St.
John in Exile
You will never be the
same after your face-to-face encounter with the Apostle John.
The year is AD 96. Thousands of Christians throughout the Roman Empire have been persecuted and killed. John, the last living apostle of Jesus, has been imprisoned. Although he is 86 years old and confined to a cave on the isle of Patmos, the Spirit- inspired writer of Revelation refuses to surrender. John remains full of humor, strong in spirit, and obstinately spry. Through his eyes we relive the moving events in which Jesus Christ changed the course of human history. Featuring DEAN JONES, this unforgettable one-man presentation delivers John's life- changing testimony. This is not a motion picture, but a professionally-produced video of a one-man play. Through the masterful work of actor Dean Jones, Saint John of the Bible comes alive like you've never known him before. This inspiring video will touch the hearts of your friends and family forever! Don't miss it. Emmy award-winning director Dan Curtis (War and Remembrance) directs St. John in Exile with great skill and awesome power. The author, Don Berrigan, is credited by the Arizona Republic as "recapturing the roots of theater itself." Christian Spotlight on the Movies gives this film a moral rating of "Excellent!" and rates its Moviemaking Quality at five stars (the highest rating.) Read their review here. |

A
priest and scholar in 15th-century Bohemia in central Europe, John Hus
lived 100 years before Martin Luther. His relentless pursuit of God’s truth
planted the seeds for the Reformation. A beloved pastor, Hus was nevertheless
condemned as a heretic at the Council of Constance for his uncompromising
belief in the final authority of the Bible, even though he had been guaranteed
safety from the emperor. Despite relentless pressure, he refused to recant
and was burned at the stake in 1415. He died singing. Viewers typically
are moved to consider what they really believe and how important it is
to them! The witness of Hus was taken up by the Unitas Fratrum. Zinzendorf
and the Moravians took to him as one of their founding fathers. A dramatic

Q: What happens when a group of home school boys and girls travel to the badlands of Colorado with their parents in search of adventure and the hope of finding ancient treasures buried in rock? A: They make the biggest
dinosaur discovery of the year. There, buried in the rock, they excavate
three amazing creatures: a many-plated Stegosaur; a 120-foot Brachiosaur.
Most importantly, they raise from the ground what appears to be the most
complete Allosaur (similar to a T. rex ) ever found in the history of paleontology,
including the monster's giant skull complete with rows and rows of once
razor-sharp teeth. But there is more: The excavators found remarkable proof
for a "recent" death of the dinosaur. Buried in and around this fully articulated
dinosaur was unfossilized organic material. Because the evidence is that
the material was deposited at the same time as the dinosaur, it points
to the fact that the creature is not millions, but thousands of years old!

"The
Prosecutor"
His job: Silence the Christians once and for all. His method: Prove the resurrection never happened. Can your faith stand up to The Prosecutor? |
This
is an exceptional and unique dramatic film. The Prosecutor is a moving
drama debating the evidence for and against Jesus' resurrection in a modern
trial setting. We have the benefit of 2000 years of history between us
and the Easter event.
Suppose Jesus had come today. A major media event results when stories circulate that a young teacher, recently put to death, has risen from the dead. His followers are calling themselves Christians and are being arrested for heresy, civil disobedience, and insurrection. A trial is held. Evidence for and against the resurrection is considered by scientists, philosophers and eyewitnesses. When the judge seeks a verdict, it's the viewers who must decide. |

Saturday, March 15 6:00 pm Zinzendorf and the Moravians: a pivotal movement in church history |
Here is a true story about the extraordinary devotion of young people and
their role at a critical point in the history of world missions. In the
1730s a community of Moravian refugees finds a home on the estate of Count
Zinzendorf in Germany. But soon they look beyond themselves to reach out
to a needy world.
In 1732 two young Moravians left their comfortable community of Herrnhut, Germany, convinced that God had called them to bring the Gospel to the slaves in the West Indies. They went, willing to become slaves themselves if necessary, to minister to these oppressed people. First Fruits unfolds the suffering which these young men endured for their missionary zeal and the agony of their community in deciding to send them forth at a time when missions to the heathen masses were unthinkable among Protestants. You will especially marvel over the "first fruits" of their ministry and the impact of their vision on the course of Christian history. The Moravians pioneered a mission movement characterized by extraordinary commitment. Under the dynamic leadership of Count Nikolaus von Zinzendorf, the Moravians sent out more missionaries in 20 years than all the other Protestant groups had in 200 years! They were driven by two strong convictions: world evangelism is a prime obligation of the church, and every member of the Christian community has this responsibility. This historical drama captures the heartbeat of missions for all believers of any age. Winner of "Best Film of the Year" Award from Christian Film Distribution Association. "You probably won't
find a better Christian family film than this one! Shot on location in
the Swiss Alps, 'Treasures of the Snow' is a dynamic production that shows
how harboring an unforgiving spirit only ends up bringing pain to yourself
and the ones you love. Granting forgiveness, on the other hand, brings
emotional and spiritual healing.
"In the story based on the powerful book by Patricia M. St. John, young Lucien's careless act of childish teasing turns into tragedy when the boy he is teasing falls over a steep mountain cliff and seriously injures his leg. The tragedy leads to bitterness as Annette, the sister of the child whose leg Lucien has damaged, refuses to accept Lucien's attempts to win forgiveness. Eventually, Annette's bitterness drives her to brokenness, and, finally, to a willingness to forgive. Other sub-plots are equally compelling. WARNING! You'll need a box of tissues handy during this one. "Excellent!" -- Christian Spotlight on the Movies |

Three factory
workers make their routine stop at a diner late one night. Just before
closing, a man comes in and takes a seat at the counter. One of the workers,
an antagonist named Larry, tries to strike up a conversation with the man
but he doesn't respond. Disturbed by this, Larry persists and finds out
the man is a Christian.
What follows is an intense drama about the most important issue in life... and eternity. Late One Night is a motion picture which applies to every person on earth regardless of race, culture, language, or nation. It clearly explains what the Bible means when it says 'you must be born again'. This movie presents the gospel of Jesus Christ, not only in word, but with a visual example of His great love for all. It also has a dialogue about
hell that will cause any viewer to stop and consider the end result. Are
you going to Hell when you die?
Six teenagers are in a car accident. The four who die are able to preview their destinies to heaven or hell based on thier beliefs about Christ before they died. The two that live are able to re-evaluate life's most important decision. The "almost Christian" realizes her folly, the "practical agnostic" reviews his impractical life, and the "silent Christian" is confronted by his close friend - "Why didn't you tell me?" The story concludes with a powerful expression of the hope that is ours in Christ. Believing viewers will understand the priority of sharing the gospel, while unbelieving viewers will see the consequences of facing eternity.
